Summary: second runner up in the pageant Congrats to her to all the contestants and especially to the new Miss Indian World Megan Young of Alabama Finally they got into the adult contests after the pageant was over I waited until my contest in Women s Southern Cloth and got down to the floor excited to finally contest until the MCs decided to have a contest to see which side of the arena would win one box of pizza I think that the South side won but it was funny to have everyone yelling to make the most noise over one little pizza box After that contest came the time to dance and I enjoyed dancing under the bright lights of the Pit Stephanie and I went back to her apartment and quickly fell asleep after the long and eventful day On Sunday we drove out of Albuquerque to see where she grew up in the town of Sile NM Sile is located by Santo Domingo and Cochiti Pueblos We got to drive through these pueblos and they looked completely different than other reservations I ve seen throughout the US The adobe houses replaced the HUD housing I was used to seeing but some things were still the same The people I met were all very friendly and there were rez dogs running all around I got to meet some of Steph s family and friends and then we drove up into the mountains and checked out Cochiti Lake the Cochiti golf course and Cochiti Canyon The area was very scenic and I was especially shocked to see the lake complete with a dock and a beach I felt like I was back East for a moment Soon it came time to actually go back East but I hope to go back to NM soon hopefully for the Santo Domingo feast days that I was invited to attend this summer I had been to Albuquerque before but never to other areas of the state and I would love to make the trip back out there again but definitely never again on Continental Image Search Content inclusion
