Is this part of San Diego an alright place to live? I'm a student and I'm moving back to SD in a couple weeks so I'm trying to find a place on craigslist. I'm pretty good about this stuff but I thought, since I'm in LA for a few more days, I'd ask on here. The guy seems really chill and laid back and he said his place is near 35th and Adams in the Normal Heights area. I've heard mixed things about that part of town but he also said there are tons of bars within walking distance to his place, which would be great, so I don't know what to think. Making living arrangements for a move to another state, moving to San Diego, ca? I am trying to plan a move to San Diego from Chicago either fall or early winter. I know there are a million similar postings, but I guess it's not the same when it's not specific to you! First some general information about me... I'm 26, currently living in Arizona. I'm thinking either before summer or right after, I will be moving to San Diego to attend classes at San Diego City College. I have my culinary degree and have been cooking since I was 15, so I don't think I'll have too much trouble finding a cooking job out there, but my true passion is photography and that's why I want to go to school for it. I also love the ocean and have been to San Diego a few times and really enjoyed it! Here are my questions: 1.) Have any of you been to SDCity or known someone who has? Is it a nice school? I hear they have a good photography program. 2.) Is the best way to find a place out there through craigslist? I think the most I'll be able to afford for rent will be $500, so it seems to be the most economical way. 3.) How is the job market when it comes to cooking? I understand photography is tough to get into pretty much anywhere and I'm assuming it's even tougher in San Diego, but I'm not sure. 4.) Jobs in So Cal (San Diego)? So...I'm torn... Ok i'm a loan officer, kind of new to it but i know that it is going to be my career so i'm staying in it. I live in Maryland now but am desperately trying to move to San Diego. I mean bad, so bad I look at jobs and apartments everyday on craigslist! So here is my question, are the jobs on CL junk jobs? I mean i've seen at least 10 loan officer jobs on there in the past week. Also the cost of living is about the same. Yes 1500 for a 2 bedroom apartment is regular for Maryland and from what i've found online it's about the same in SD. I know real estate is suffering now but i've found those jobs and some pretty reasonable apartments, i mean 1000 for 1 bedroom and 1 bath is about the same you pay in MD/DC. I know the weather and stuff is great which is the real reason I want to move! So any insight would be great on jobs and just to clarify by junk jobs I mean jobs that are not really jobs! Also (sorry to throw this on in) Do you think I should establish/learn the ins and outs of lending in MD then move to SD and go from there? Or should I start my lending career in SD. I am a personal chef in San Diego I need clientelle. Any advice. I have had one client and all was good exc I have had one client and all was good except he can't afford the service on a regular basis. I have tried a website and craigslist and no success. Where can I find a job in San Diego?? I don't have a degree, but I am certified for nursing Assistant but I don't really care for that type of work. How hard is it to get an apartment with bad credit in San Diego County? I don't have the best credit because I was sent to collections about two years ago due to medical bills I couldn't pay at 18, and recently I fell behind on credit card payments. I'm working on rebuilding my score, but it's probably around the 500-600s right now. The other person who will be moving into the apartment with me has even a worse score... was kicked off an apartment in the past, tons of credit cards that were never paid, and is in the process of filing for bankruptcy. However, we both have stable income right now and we're basically willing to pay extra for rent. I've looked around at postings in craigslist.org and there's tons of listings that say "take over payments, bad credit ok" and a ridiculously cheap monthly rent, but they seem more like a scam than anything. Does anybody have any advice for this? Co-signers aren't really an option at this point. :/

Im sellin an item on craigslist (san Diego area) and this guy emails me sayin hes interested in buyin it but he lives in florida and the item will be payed by paypal, but he wants me to ship it to somewhere in africa for him for a gift for his daughter and he agreed to pay more money for the shipping. Am I being scammed? I'm trying to make some extra money tutoring.? I replied to a post that was on San Diego Craigslist. The post was looking for tutors and if interest we were to reply to an a.o.l. email address. I replied and recieved an email froma guy named Dom, telling that the tutor is for his daughter who is going to be down here from the phillipines for the month of may with her nanny. The agreement was that he was going to send me a check for my tutoring fees and supplies. But the check he is going to send is going to be for more than that. What im supposed to do is deposit the check, deduct my fee, and wire the remaining amount to the nanny in the phillipines (He's in cuba) because that is what she and the girl are going to live off of while she is down here. I imagine the check is going to be fairly large. Now, can i get in trouble with taxes for the entire check or am i possible doing something illegal? Something is weird, but I dont know. Has anyone heard of this being done before?

Ok heres the problem, I am in mexico and for some reason could not post an ad in San diego, so I did some research and found that if I use software that hides my IP then I could post in San Diego. Even still if I post in SD then I can not post to other places, the post do no appear to similar, if I change to a different craigslist account, would I beable to post again. Is it safe to receive money through PayPal for a craigslist transaction? i'm located in san diego and i posted a few items on craigslist recently. a lady wants me to ship my items to her. she says she'll send $ via paypal. as long as she sends the money before i send the items, it should be safe, right? or is there any way she can take the money back or anything else that can happen after i send it? i know there are a lot of scams on craigslist, so i want to make sure, since this item is worth $100. i know it's not necessarily safe to SEND money, but i don't know if it is or is not safe and reliable to RECEIVE money!

Jobs In San Diego 10 points for the best answer!? So...I'm torn... Ok i'm a loan officer, kind of new to it but i know that it is going to be my career so i'm staying in it. I live in Maryland now but am desperately trying to move to San Diego. I mean bad, so bad I look at jobs and apartments everyday on craigslist! So here is my question, are the jobs on CL junk jobs? I mean i've seen at least 10 loan officer jobs on there in the past week. Also the cost of living is about the same. Yes 1500 for a 2 bedroom apartment is regular for Maryland and from what i've found online it's about the same in SD. I know real estate is suffering now but i've found those jobs and some pretty reasonable apartments, i mean 1000 for 1 bedroom and 1 bath is about the same you pay in MD/DC. I know the weather and stuff is great which is the real reason I want to move! So any insight would be great on jobs and just to clarify by junk jobs I mean jobs that are not really jobs! Does this look like a craigslist scam?? I've been looking around craigslist for a PS3, and came across an awesome deal. I contacted the seller, and he tells me that he will take PayPal and will ship for free. He says he's at a military base (San Diego, I'm in LA) and has to sell quick. Is there somewhere fun to move to in the SF Valley? I've recently been offered a job in Thousand Oaks, CA but,I can't really afford to move to T.O. (I'm looking for a one-bedroom in the 1100 range) so I'm thinking perhaps somewhere in the Valley (or Malibu, if I'm lucky, but probably not that lucky), west of the 405. Craigslist experienced users only please!? Ok heres the deal... I am in Tijuana Mexico, I am a photographer. I can not opost my ad for my services in San Diego section. I used software to hide my IP that really slows my com down, it works sometimes to post only to SD, but then I cant post to other areas. How do I prepare myself to pay taxes properly? I currently have three sources of income. I help my friend with his carpet business (cleaning and installing). He pays me cash and to my knowledge he doesn't file taxes. I play music gigs, mostly for cash but occasionally fill out a 1099? form and payed check. I also buy and sell items on craigslist. I live in San Diego, California. I'm wondering how I go about doing this properly so it doesn't catch up with me later. I assume I keep records of all my income - perhaps seperately for the three different incomes. I also assume I keep track of expenses - not sure what those might be. My main expense is driving to and from jobs, but I dont' really have a home office so I think I'm just commuting. Should I declare myself as a small business with the city? How to use craigslist from mexico listing in US? I know that CL does not allow you to post in another country, I live in Tijuana mexico (right beside San Diego) I need to post an add into CL San DIego. I use to have a program that would make my ip addy appear as if it were in the states, and that would work, it was slow doing it but it worked. I do not remember what that program was that I downloaded, I just tonight downloaded tor that did absolutrly nothing ( not even sure I was working it right) Then I downloaded hide ip platinum, the only ip it gives is one from Maylaysia.
