Best free online local classifieds?

What are some good (free) online resources for finding freelance writing jobs? I all ready visit Writersrow.Com on a daily basis for freelance writing job leads, which often leads me to Craigslist.Org postings, but I am wondering if anyone in the Yahoo! Answers community knows of other sites that I can visit that don't require I be a member or subscribe to a service to contact people. I also try looking at MySpace Classifieds, my local online classifieds, Monster.Com, etc, but I'm usually disappointed with my results. What I'm looking for are the more "underground" websites - nothing main stream, that are safe and reliable sources for me to find freelance work. Because I refuse to work for a paycheck and I refuse to give up half my paycheck to put gas in a car that I, honestly, don't have. :) Thanks for your help!

Large aquariums not a long term pet or hobby? I see so very many large aquariums 55, 90, 180, 220 gallons for sale constantly on my free local online classifieds. Many of these setups are only a couple years old and the prices are usually rather low compared to buying new. Why so many getting into this hobby and spending thousands and then selling for a dime or two on the dollar so soon after? I'd think aquariums would be more successful as a pet or hobby due to no vet bills, no walking etc.

Inexpensive Advertising? I recently became an Avon Rep, and I have tried the whole free online and local classifieds ad posting, but that is not really brining in any results. I currently have about 5 customers and would like to increase to at least 10 regular customers. I don't have much in the way of an advertising budget but I'm sure I could scrung something up if necessary. I want to know of other inexpensive ways to advetise aside from doing door to door. What is a FREE website that you can sell model cars on? MORE INFO INSIDE.? My boyfriend has hundreds and hundreds of model cars that he has collected over the years. He doesn't want them anymore, and I'm going to sell them online for him. I need a website that you do NOT have to pay through PayPal or anything like that. I just want to be able to post my inventory and prices for each car. I am NOT shipping these cars anywhere. I don't need E-bay. I plan on posting these website link on the local classifieds and craigslist so that I don't have to send 400 pictures every time someone e-mails me about them. Is buying/ Selling a Vehicle Without a title illegal? I recently Purchased a 2010 Toyota Camry, I bought the vehicle with a bill of sale and the owner told me he will pay off the car and send me the title within 2 weeks, I called him a week later and asked him how it was going and how soon i would have the title, He cusses me out, tells me he cant get the title and says do what you want with the car, So next Day i list the car On a local Classifieds site online mentioning the car had no title and i dont know how to get it, Cops show up at my door a couple days later take the car and tell me i cant sell a car with no title, Turns out the guy a bought the car from rented from hertz rental and sold it to me, The police are trying to charge me with Fraud Invalid vehicle title, possession of stolen property and fraud selling vehicle with no title, what should i do?, Should i come to my court date alone and explain what happened or get myself a lawyer, I lost money, And the guy who sold me the stolen car gets away scotch free, i have his id number and his name, and cops don't care, Please don't insult me for making a dumb decision, Can i go to jail over something so stupid and not straightforward? Thanks. Please please help me.. And this is also My second car to be ever purchased, i am only 17 years old.

How likely are you to respond to a "free or say $20 fee" for a photoraphy session? This would be an add for example online (in your local area) or in the newspaper classifieds. The ad would offer photography services from a "beginner photographer" for either free or a minimal fee to cover gas to the shoot or the CD in which you would receive your photos on and you would have the rights to print as you wished. I thought this was a great idea when I saw an add online. It would give beginner photographers experience with the public. Of course the photographer would want your permission to use your photos on their website/blog, in their portfolio or for advertisement in the future. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this matter. I'm giving a kitten for adoption in dubai? I have a burmese asian kitten, she's 4 month's old, tortoise shelled, she's a female, playfull and sweet. I'm giving her for free because we're leaving the country and we can't take her with us. I've tryed to give her away since she was 2 month's old, by putting ad's in local news papers or online classifieds, but no luck so far. And we have only 1 month left till we leave. DS: Brokers that network dogs? About two weeks ago my husband found a stray dog, it was around 11:00 PM so he brought her home. It is a young female American pit bull terrier. So the next day in addition to notifying the animal shelters, I placed seven " found" ads, five were online, two print ads in local papers. I just received a phone call from a woman inquiring about the ad I placed for the pit bull puppy "free to good home". Now I'm a bit confused, my ads were placed in the found section for lost and found dogs and never did I use the word "free" or good home. Then she proceeded to warn me about people that go thru the classifieds and get the "free" pits to use as bait dogs or for fighting. She never let me get a word in until I finally had to stop her rambling. As the conversation went on she said she was a broker that networks dogs. But, when I asked her a question there was no confidence in her answers. In fact, when I asked her to read me the ad she was referring too, it was only because of my insistence's that she read me the add or I would hang up that she admitted she never saw it. She said someone else views the ads and notifies her to make the calls. When I asked her who she worked for or with she said she was just a broker "helping" dogs and that she networked 300 pit bulls a day. There was more to it that I will stop here. Her parting words were if the owner does not claim the dog, she would help me place the dog no charge. My question is does anyone know how I would verify that this woman is legit since she is independent? Or just the fact that she " cold calls" for lack of a better term, the classifieds free ads for pit bulls a red flag. And if she's not legit is there any agency that I could turn her into. I realize she hasn't done anything illegal with me, but they might be looking for her in some other investigation of animal cruelty. Just the thought! @Nikkid... Actually Petfinders was the first organization I listed her with, but she may have been abused. She cowards down when I raise my hand to pull my hair back from my face and she has a few scars on her face and two on her legs small that the there. She looked well fed and her coach is shiny and well groomed. I have her name and phone number whether her name is real or not is yet to be seen. Yes I did trace the number and it just comes up as a cell phone in Los Angeles, California and it's prepaid. Initially a red flag went up when I talked to this woman so I wasn't really counting on using her. I still have some time it's not imperative she leave today or tomorrow I just don't want it to go on for months and then of course she would be part of the family then,,,,, lol But are there legitimate brokers that help place dogs? You can be assured this woman will never even see this dog. My feeling is since my ads ran for two weeks they were thinking I was tired of the dog and would just hand her over to get rid of her. I just was not sure if there are legitimate brokers for dogs. If she is really handling 300 pits a day or even just 30 I think I should give the information to animal cruelty to investigate. An officer can contact them about their interest in the dog and pose to be my husband.

Is this business a good idea? I'm an Entrepreneurship major in college, and I really enjoy the idea of having my own business. I've recently had a business idea, and though I know Yahoo! Answers may not be the best place for advice, I find that sometimes it can be helpful; so, here it goes. I live in a university town with about 28,000 college students. I had an idea to create a website that would be similar to an online newspaper. Students could submit articles/artwork/photography featuring on and off campus topics. I feel this would work because many students are looking for 1) exposure, 2) experience, 3) something to add to their resume. I'd also like to include a Classifieds section that would allow students to sell textbooks, notes, and other items. I'd also like it to somehow house study group invitations. I'd also like to have a section where local businesses can pay a monthly fee to display a coupon or advertisement on the website. The fee would be extremely minimal, and probably free the first few months. Lastly, I'd like a forums section where students can discuss teachers/classes/college related topics. I plan on having income on this website by displaying advertisements, the monthly coupon fee, google adsense, and then definitely more income sources in the future. I am familiar with microsoft expressions, and i'll more than likely host with godaddy. Any advice or opinions would be appreciated. Thanks! Katy- Yes, a newspaper exists, but it does not have a classifieds section, you must be on the newspaper staff to post articles, and they only cover major topics. I'd like to include nightlife, nearby festivals, on campus clubs or organizations, etc; I'd like for it to be more personal than a newspaper and much less formal. Do you feel that a school newspaper existing would be a future problem?
