I don't have any experience in these type of agencies, so for those pp that have knowledge, here are some of my question: 1: Are they some kind of middle man between you and the employer ? Where can I get a job in the bay area? I'm moving to Alameda/bay area like every other schmoe out there (though I hear oregon is another spot that lemmings like myself are congregating to). I have experience as a writer for various publications, run a humorous observation blog (http://seafoodpunch.com) that I dont tell too many employers about but I can obviously work with the internet and social networking sites. I've got experience with graphics, sciences... but....alas...no job. sigh. it is getting depressed and I'm worried that I may have to start flipping burgers and selling drugs to make rent. Any ideas? Can I qualify for unemployment under these conditions? I just quit a job that I've been working at for a year and a half that I really hate. So I signed up for an employment agency called AppleOne. They said it will be a little harder for them to find a job for me since I only have three months of office experience. Now this is my question: Because I am employed again by AppleOne, can I qualify for unemployment since I'm obviously working less that 40 hours a week? Here's my list (just to name a few): Adecco- gay guy sent me to a job with no job description info and emailed me negative info about another employee AppleOne- only has temporary employment Corestaff- gave me a crap job and let me go after 1 day Corporate Job Bank- sent me to a high stress job that lasted a month Office Team- straight up snobs there Ultimate Staffing- a bunch of gay guys Select Staffing- sent me to a job and was layed off within two weeks (Balboa Insurance swallowed up by BofA)
