Housing Market? Why is the housing market suddenly so hot that it is pricing the middle-income family right out of becoming homeowners? The southeast has 3-4 bedroom homes that several years ago sold for $200K now selling for $900K! When is this trend going to shift back into affordable housing?

housing market? When do you think the housing market will pick up or will get better? Is it getting worse and how long do you think it will last?
How does the housing market affect the stock market so much? I heard that the housing market being low in sales and with the forclousure market crashing, it is affecting investors so much that they are moving money out of equities (stocks) and investing more in safer investments. Thats why the stock market has been down so much in the past week. How does this happen? I was reading about it, but I didn't really understand. Are investors pulling out their stocks from big lenders? How exactly does it affect the stock market? I need help understanding it in normal terms that make sense. Please advise, thank you!!
When will the housing market start to pick up again? I was suppose to move in July 2009 but my parents can't sell the house because the housing market is so low. Ok, I have no idea what Im talking about but I really wanna know, will it pick up by July? I miss my friennds so much I wanna move so bad. If my parents can't sell the house i'll probably go live at my friend's house or something.
What is the housing market going to do? What is the best time to buy a home? We are looking to buy a new home (primary residence), but are anxious given the state of the housing market these days. There is a house we are particularly interested in, but it is a new listing and we aren't sure the sellers have felt the full effect of the soft market yet. How long should we wait before we put in an offer? (They have already had a small drop in price after their first week of having listed the place). Thanks
What is the residential housing market like in China and Japan? I am just interested to know some facts with the current residential housing market in Asian countries like China and Japan. How much is an average home worth there? What would be an average home? What sort of interest rate do they have on their loans? So, is it easy to enter the housing market? Cheers, Callum.
How do I take advantage of the housing market? Im the ripe young age of 24 with a decent job. How can I take advantage of the housing market? It seems to me like now is a prime time opportunity to get myself a house even though I don't really need it, just something for investment or the future. What are some resources for locating low priced housing? Where are the bargains in times like these? Foreclosures? Do they list forclosed property? If there are any investors or realty savvy folks out there that can help a young buck get my foot in the door I would appreciate it!
How will the american economic slowdown, with the worsening housing market, effect property markets in Asia? I own property in Cambodia in Southeast Asia, where the housing market is presently very good, with property values increasing by almost 40% per annually. I am concerned that the US economic slump with its numerous housing forclosures, will eventually effect the housing market in Cambodia as well. I want to know what to expect - will the US economic crisis effect Cambodia or not? The Cambodian currency is tied closely to the US dollar. With the dollars recent fall on world money markets how will this effect the Cambodian market?
What is causing the housing market to go down? I know this is stupid but what is causing the housing market to slump over the past months (or even years)? I see it on the news often. I'm not very knowledgeable in finance or the economy. I was planning in the future to buy a condo and is it worth it to buy one? A lot of people always say, "What's the point? Just buy a house."
I hope the housing market crashes super bad so I can finally afford to buy a home. How about you? Holy crap. Things got WAY out of control here in Florida. Wages stayed flat for years while the housing market skyrocketed here. The only folks buying homes (and there were alot) were folks that brought alot of money from up north after they sold their home in New York or wherever or speculators would invest heavily hoping to make a quick buck. Actually, I hope the people that the speculators that drove the price up really suffer financially. According to major newspapers here in Florida, this may even trigger a recession. What I am really getting at here is that I hope for a market correction.
What does this housing market term mean? I keep hearing that the Denver housing market will take 6 monthes to 2 more years to "bottom out" or reach the "bottom" before it starts to stabalize. So, Here's My Question: In order to reach the "bottoming out" level, should prices of existing homes decline or can a market reach the bottom with sellers keeping their prices the same and just not increasing them? In other words, should prices go down in existing homes before they hit the bottom?
What happens if my loan amount is more than my house is worth today cuz of the housing market? Three years ago, we refinanced our house, got into a 3 year ARM, didn't know anything about refinancing so I did that, thinking that was the best thing to do. It was worth $182,000, the loan was for $139,000. Because of the housing market in Florida, one lender said my house was only worth $125,000 today. How am I to get refinanced now, what happens?
What are your thoughts on the current housing market? What are your thoughts on the current housing market and interest rates? What do you think really happened to cause so many foreclosures and what do you think can be done to correct the problem? Do you think the government should interfere?
What kinds of things will be the result of the housing market crash? I have read an article about Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. What will the person/group who is in authority to do so, do? Will they kick EVERYONE out of their dwellings? are they going to board up each and every dwelling unit of the homes that are not paid for ? What will happen to people (simple people, rich people, normal every day people like me) when the housing market crashes? I am not a home owner I live in an apartment, but don't these apartment properties have to deal with the housing market as well?
Is inflation or the housing market the biggest problem in the economy? Hi, I writing an essay for my econ class and this is one of the questions I have to answer. In my opinion the housing market is the biggest problem right now. I believe that inflation is something we have to worry about in the future, but right now the biggest problem in my opinion is the housing market. What do you guys and gals think? I'm I right or wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, GhostWhispererFan25
What do you think could be done to assist the housing market? Do you think that the new Stamp Duty ruling is going to help the housing market. Given that 100% mortgages are few and far between do you think if first time buyers were given interest free loans for a deposit it could help to get the market going again?
How is the housing market in Arkansas? I am trying to get a home loan for a house. We have been prequailfied through USDA Rural Development and we should find out in the next few days if we have been approved. I have heard different things about the housing market. Some say it hasn't been affected here, others say that it has. I would really like to know so I'll know what my shot is at getting a good deal right now! I'm in Batesville!
How much of the economy is made up from the housing market? In a percentage? I am unsure whether the housing market, and all its related services and goods, such as delivery vans and furniture stores, have a major role in the economy, and i was wanting to know a percentage figure for the amount that they take up. All help appreciated. :)
What is President Obama doing for the housing market? I'm currently in the market to purchase a new home as a first time home owner. I have a flexible time frame (1-4 months) and excellent credit. I've heard the possibility of a tax stimulus to boost to the US housing market. If a tax credit is issued later in 2009, will I still be eligible for that tax credit if I had purchased a house before the announcement of the credit? Mortgage rates are near all time lows. Do you think they will continue to go down? Thanks
Did housing market affect private student loans? I saw that many private student loan compaies stopped offering student loans to 2 year colleges and some got out of the market all together. Is this directly related to the housing crisis? If so, then why not also bail people out of their massive student loan debt if they're gonna help people with their houses? I don't see how it's anyone elses fault other than the people who got the housing loans. I couldn't figure out what section this question belonged in so I made an educated guess.
How can the housing market be expected to rebound so quickly after 5+ yrs of excessive growth? Many reports in the press read about how the housing market may recover soon. How could a quick housing rebound be possible if the housing market has been excessively growing (ie 10% excess growth vs 5% historical avg) for over 5 years? Would there not need to be a flattening or drop in housing prices for several years so that they return to historical price/income and price/rent ratios?
If the housing market is a symptom of what is really going on then what is? Some economists want to blame the econimic slump on the housing market which is only a symptom of the real problem. The problem is your consumers are now your cheep labor force. When people can no longer afford to buy things because companies want to cut cost essentially they cut out thier biggest consumers which is the labor force. So what do you think is causing our economic slump?
Is it wrong of me to want the housing market to collapse? I earn quite a good wage, yet whenever I look into buying a house, I either have the choice of buying a derelict run down property in an area where drugs and crime are rife, or buy nothing at all. I can't afford a decent home. It would cost over £900 per month just for a basic flat in a semi decent area! The only way I will ever own my own home is if I win the lottery, or house prices fall drastically. I know the chances of winning the lottery are slim, so I just hope the housing market collapses. My job is very secure. I work in food retail for a national comapny.
Why is the housing market dropping? I know nothing about real estate. I've heard on the news a lot about the housing market falling. Can someone give me an "idiots guide" with simple terms as to why this has happened?
Housing market is the backbone of our economy? The part-time talk show host of WTKK in Boston said housing market is the backbone of our economy. He is a rea estate attorney. Apart from housing market, I find health care industry is also the backbone of our economy. Unfortunately this is the reason why we have a financial meltdown today.
I want to know what all of the Economists for Fox news think now of the housing market? These "Yuppie" Economists talked about how the housing market wasn't in trouble and how all of the "gloom and doom" people were just overreacting. Now here we are with millions of people in jepoardy of losing their homes over the next year. Too bad that lending companies in this world are only driven by money. Things are not turning out quite as bright as they were projecting.
Where do you think the housing market will be 6 years from now? Right now it's complete and total crap, it seems like theirs no possible way it can get any worse. At the same time, people are getting foreclosed on left and right and not alot of people are buying up those houses. On the other hand we may get a president in after Bush is gone who goes out of his way to fix the housing market, but I'm not thinking that's likely considering none of the nominees really seemed concerned about the housing market, it's not a big issuee for most people.
Is the housing market a buyer or seller's market right now? Will it be changing soon? I heard that China is selling their US currency so the value of the US dollar will go down. Somehow that's supposed to make the housing market fall. But it that really good for buyers or for sellers? I currently rent and my husband and I would qualify for first time home buyers. We are not sure if we should jump on a house now or wait until next spring.
How bad is the housing market, really? My boyfriend has a very nice place with a few acres, and he's getting ready to put it on the market. How terrible is this going to be? I know the housing market is pretty bad right now. FYI: He lives in a small farming community in the Midwest. Thanks!
Why are the tories just trying to prop up the housing market? The tories announced new plans to reduce tax etc for 1st time buyers to be able to buy houses, when really measures should be being taken to bring down the prices of the bigger houses. Without 1st time buyers there is not a market and the measures are just to protect the "fat cats" in their big houses. Their plans sound very good and vote winners but I think they're being very crafty.
How is the housing market in Murray Bridge, SA? What is the average house sale price? How long is the average house on the market? Are there any new industries in town drawing new residents? Can buyers negotiate cost? Are there any buyers agents in Murray Bridge?
How can Gordon Brown help first-time buyers in the UK housing market? There's a growing groundswell of opposition to the substantial discounts given by builders to private investors who buy houses to let. Rightly or wrongly, first-time buyers blame them for pushing up house prices. As in North America and Australia, most private buy-to-let investors are ordinary people who see their investment as an ideal way to create enough retirement pension to live on. As Chancellor, Gordon Brown's record on 'improving pensions' was hardly a success, and the UK old-age pension (US: social security) is no longer enough to live on. Can we believe that as Prime Minister he will actually help house buyers by bringing changes to the housing market? Or just stop those trying to help themselves in old age?
What is the housing market like in your area? Are there many houses up for sale that are just sitting? Or, are they selling when prices are slashed? Do you feel concerned by the foreclosures taking place right now in the U.S. coupled with many areas having trouble selling homes? The real estate industry came out with figures showing that sales were steady, however, I am not convinced of that at all. Sellers that are desperate are doing whatever it takes to sell their homes, so if the market is steady, it is at a price. What say you? BTW: In my state, things are better than in places like California, Florida, etc., where prices went too high too fast. ReNate-Where do you live...think I'd like to be on an island!
will the Housing market crash in 2006? I have been watching the housing market, it is obviously over priced, and the sentiment is that the party is over. Does this mean prices will decline, and by how much?
