I was all set to move in to an apartment the 1st of feb....I havn't signed anything, havn't paid anything, but told the people I was taking it, and they agreed, Now I cannot take the apartment. How does the heater in my apartment work? I live in a big apartment building that's probably 25 years old. The building has free water and free heat to all the residents. The heater runs along the floor on one wall in the living room, bedroom, and bathroom. I know that there is water running through the heaters because sometimes I can hear it. When buying an apartment, how important it is to you if it is on the 3rd floor or on the 1st floor? I am tempted to go for the 3rd floor because once I am in, it has 5 windows within two sides of the building and therefore it is quite sunny, from two windows I see trees and green, while the one on the 1st floor only has only 3 windows and they are all on the same side of the building and so it is a bit gloomier apart from the morning, also the windows only face the street and therefore not much green to be seen.. Another difference is the 3rd floor apartment has 2 bedrooms and 1 living room with small bathroom and kitchen while the 1st floor apartment has 2 bedroom (no living room) but a bigger bathroom (with no window!) and bigger kitchen. The size of the two apartments is roughly the same, the one below being a tad bigger even if it has no living room. I just can't decide which one to go for. A deciding factor could be they are mountain apartments and they both rely on wood stoves for heating. I guess logging wood up to the 3rd floor isn't as feasible as logging it to the 1st floor? Lol. The below apartment is a third more expensive, although the money isn't that much of a problem.

I'm looking at small studio apartments and many of them you enter the apartment from the outside and not a hallway. This menas when you open the door you are leaving a garden courtyard and entering a small room. It makes me depressed to close the door to the outside because you are leaving a garden behind and locking yourslef inside a room. How can I get rid of roaches in an apartment? I live in an apartment complex and there is a really bad roach infestation. We have complained to the office MANY times and they say they are treating for them. We get these little notes from the bug man who say he is going to come spray for bugs, but they only spray the outside of the bottem apartments! We have them so bad that I have had to move All of my food out of the pantry because of a huge roach nest that is in it. YUK! Also I had to throw away my dogs bed because they made a nest in it. They are just all over - I am tired of being told its getting taken care of when it is not! So my question is, what can I do to get rid of them being that I live in an apartment. I have a cockroach problem in my apartment? I live in one of those buildings with an outdoor fire escape in NYC, so it's pretty old... I kept finding roaches in my room and all over the apartment even though I left no food in sight.
