What are the generic cover letters for hotjobs supposed to look like?

What content should be in them, and do you normally just describe yourself since you are not applying to a certain job.

1. I'm assuming you're referring to a general purpose cover letter: http://www.cvtips.com/cover_letter_general.html The content is the same, with regards to organization and outlines. Now if you're not applying for a specific job, you should mention just that you're interested and enhance the traits related to the entire nature of the company. Meaning say that you could fit in more than one positions for example. nevertheless, it is better to have a little research done in this matter, in order for you not to appear like fallen from the sky :D
