Does anyone know any good websites other then careerbuilder, monster, craigslist, and hotjobs.com?

I have been to all those and there in nothing. I am from Cali and I was wondering if there was a secret to finding a job on the web.

  1. Your local classifieds are online. simplyjobs.com and indeed.com are emerging as major ones.
  2. I post my positions on craiglist, however I also suprise people by using my local paper at times too. The power of print can help me finding good candiates.
  3. post your resume on all those sites and let them find you that's what I did when Motorola hired me in 1999!
  4. Go to a local site for your town such as a news stations website or your newspapers site and check the classifieds. Here in Massachusetts we have Mass live and its a site of everything in MA such as tourist attractions, shows and calssifieds. Local employers post jobs there.
  5. www.linkedin.com - a networking website that I've heard has worked wonders for some as their network builds. Good luck!
  6. Google Department of labor and your State...it should give you a dol/state link for jobs in your area.
  7. usajobs.gov is the only one I can think of. Secrets? Well, networking is the best way to get jobs that is not advertised. You can join an organization that specializes in the field you are in or a national organization.
  8. Those are pretty broad jobsites. Try to find a more specialized site, one more tailored to tech jobs. Dice.com is one to look at. The big secret: dropping resumes isn't as effective as posting and maintaining one that prospective employers can look at. HR offices are bombarded everyday by resumes of people who have no business sending in their info, to the point that those eyeballs glaze over and don't recognize the good ones when they show up. Good luck.
