I need to write an job winning resume where can I go besides monster, careerbuilder, etc to get examples?

I rather have information from top professionals. People that hire. My resume is good but I am not getting anyone to call me back. Could the problem be that I am applying for jobs in a different state to which I live or what?

  1. You can log on this site.
  2. You need to highlight your experience in such a way that you clearly spell out what previous experience that you have for the particular job you are applying for without obvioulsy overstating your qualifications. Remember you can not get a job with a good resume, that only helps you get an interview where your qualifications, skills, training, and experience can be discussed in detail.
  3. you need to assault them from multiple angles. your goal is really to get past hr and out of the dead resume stack. with your resume you need to quantify as much as possible. make it a simple outline. you can make a mini-portfolio with charts graphs spreadsheets if they are applicable to explaining who you are. call and call and call some more. try to get information on who is doing the hiring and how to contact them. if you do contact them let them know you live out of town and were interested in a position with the company and would like to meet and ask some questions. use your distance for your advantage. set your own schedule for meeting with them and check to make sure its good with them. be the alpha. if you get a meeting with them drop off a copy of your resume -- don't expect the copy you mail to ever leave hr. network yourself through email. try to get email addresses for people that work in the department you are applying for and ask them about work conditions etc. after you feel more comfortable ask them what conditions for working in the office are and who would be the best contact person. if its someone in hr you lost and need to try again.
  4. The jobs that you apply for should state the city and state where you are applying at. You need to customize your resume to the job posting to clearly show that you are qualified for the job. You cannot send the same resume to one employer as you did to the other given that their job descriptions are different. You can also do a search on Yahoo or Google about resumes. You can put in a search such as "Marketing Resumes" and it will give you several websites with resumes that you can look at. This will help you with your format and certain 'key' words that you need for the industry that you are applying for. Do this and then have 2 other trusted people take a look at your resume to critique it and to offer any suggestions for changes.
