Are there jobs related to my field (English, film) I could work while in college?

I'm majoring in Film Studies and English. After college I'm hoping to be a film critic, do something with newspapers or books, be an assistant editor, editor,etc. When I look up job postings for these, they all seem to want a degree, but also prior experience. What jobs could I do now, primarily in the summer, that would relate to my majors and give me the experience I need so I can get a better job after I graduate?

1. You will have to make your journalistic mark before being hired as a film critic or editor. From the interests you have listed, my suggestion is that you major in Journalism (writing). Some of the courses you will be required to take for your Journalism degree will require internships, and that is where you will be able to get some experience while attending college. This will give you the opportunity to build up a resume. s
