How do you find post construction clean up jobs to bid on?

Public Comments

  1. Most construction crews have their own clean up crews.
  2. go to construction site offices for the builder. they will either be willing to accept bids or direct you to where you should submit them.
  3. I used to have my own business doing this. What I did was made up a bunch of flyer's, did lots of driving around, looking for new construction sites, and went to the supervisors and handed out the flyer's. I got a LOT of business that way. But, knowing what the "going rate" was then, I went down about 5 cents per square foot.( for the first cleaning only, so as to get other houses to clean from the same builder ) That's what you have to figure out first, is how much you want per square foot. Some builders require that you carry insurance, others don't. Anyway, get some flyer's printed up, along with some business cards ( it shows that you are being more professional about it ), and just start driving around. I ended up with more business than I could handle ! By the way, I live right outside Dallas, and the "going rate" was about 15 to 20 cents per square footage. Good luck ! My first house ( per builder was 10 cents per square foot ). Make them an offer they can't refuse! THEN hit 'em up with the big bucks!!! PS Look for the trailors on the construction sites, those are the people you need to talk to. Either the supervisor whi does the hiring, or the builder himself will be there. I just thought of something else I did! How could I forget????? I looked in the phone book, under Builders, and mailed out a lot of flyer's along with a business cards. You'll be surprised at how many return calls you get.
