I have just graduated from a Medical assistant program, What Now?
I went to some sites like indeed, hot jobs, career builder, they are all the same. I applied to some of them, I faxed resumes and I even mailed in a cover letter and resume. Any other ideas to help me job search? I need to find a job asap

- When I graduated, on my resume I listed my education first because I did not have experience. I included all of my clinical hours in that section and emphasized those hours as much as I could. Then below that I said something like "previous experience includes", then listed EVERYTHING that even remotely resembled exerience dealing with the public or anything else that could be used in the postion I was applying for. Also, read the ad carefully and pick out the key words. Include these words or phrases in your cover letter and re-work your resume to include as many of these words and phrases as you can. Many employers scan these papers with the computer and the computer picks up on these things. The cover letters/resumes that have the most hits, get in the short stack. An example would be: "Work in a fast paced general practice". In your cover letter you could say "volunteered in the fast paced school office to assist the instructors". But do not lie, just emphasize things so that they will reflect more favorably on yourself.
- Perhaps search for related jobs such as medical receptionist, file clerk, medical records ('health information') clerk, office assistant. Radiology centers tend to look for file clerks perhaps due to the xrays being sort of cumbersome. This may help the person get their foot in the door. The sunday classified ads may have more jobs than during the week as long as it's not a holiday weekened. Perhaps even some temp agencies have related jobs for experience.
