Jazz sax player stopped and searched over a 12 year period, why did he not complain?
I knew a jazz saxophone player who walked to Waterloo station from Soho at 4 AM 6 days a week for 12 years to get what he called the milk train to Banstead in Surrey where he lived. He said to me he was stopped "about once a month" for 12 years by police asking to see what he had in his saxophone case ( I am hoping a policeman reads this and can remember it) He NEVER COMPLAINED ONCE indeed he said "they have a point perhaps a gun or stolen goods could have been in my saxophone case " This was a balding blond UK guy originally from Blackpool. He was an old fashioned law abiding UK man who wanted to help the police do their job. The police should have stop and search powers and the people who complain do not have British respect for the law Attention terrorists / criminals and supporters. If you want to carry a bomb/AK45/ suicide explosives through London at 4 AM use a saxophone case, we do not search saxophone cases because we will be called "fascist" Deliberately so Colin, your observation is pure genius

- the police have shot people for less, he's lucky because they shot a man carrying a chair leg..he was a french polisher..he died of his gunshot wounds, of course they shoot ordinary people like charles menendez all he was doing was catching a train..i rest my case.
- If we Brits wanted that kind of totalitarian c**p by some idiotic and low mentality petty officials who do not know the difference between a sax case and a machine gun then we would go to live in such a place. If some want to put up with that interfering rubbish they should go live where it is acceptable like Iraq now. The police should only act if a crime HAS BEEN committed and not before. It is complete bull to push this crime prevention rubbish. It is a con to take away peoples fundamental rights to walk around unmolested. It is like being mugged. Someone comes up to you for no apparent reason other than they dont trust you or don't like the way you look.
- yeah you go man! but seriously your right, we have a hard enough job and london especially the police have to be so careful as the crime rate is ridiculously high.
- He probably didn't complain because, as you say ,he was an "old-fashioned law abiding guy" THEY are the ones who are getting the "Sh**ty" end of the Stick" nowadays. If you Whinge and Whine and shout the odds then everyone will dance to your tune. There is only ONE thing that you need to know about AUTHORITY of any kind: The more trouble they think you will cause then the BETTER you will be treated. Have you seen tonight's news about new "Stop Powers"? You all know exactly what that means: Some Chief Constable somewhere is saying: "Right, men! Go out and "Stop and Search" a lot of people" "But, make sure they're all white. We don't want any trouble!"
- You've answered you own question, by quoting what he said.
