USPS Transitional City Carrier Employment?

Hi, i'm a 27 year old male that took the 473C exam a little over a year ago. I first received a letter stating i passed the exam somewhere in the mid 70's. i know it's not that great but atleast i passed i guess? just recently i received an application packet asking if i would be interested in part time employment. i filled out the packet and sent it in. they sent me another letter to show up for a driving test 804 i believe it was? i took that and passed. i just got another letter to show up for an interview that will last up to 3 hours! next week! my question(s) is: - is this interview as groooooling as it seems? - what are my chances of being hired full time if i do work part time no bene's at first? - what is the physical exam like? thanks!

  1. A NALC (NALC.org) TE is an assignment that lasts for one year. After 6 months TE's can take the permanent employment test in-service. The interview is not that rough, its mostly about checking to see if you have the mental toughness to survive as a Letter Carrier. Remember that Letter Carriers work inside only for about 2.5 hours and then work outside, in the rain, snow and heat, with customers, and also exposed to dogs. If you have carpal tunnel already and/or can't carry 35 pounds for 8 hours forget it.
