Entertainment and triviality the only focuses of modern human life?

From what I can tell, the mind of modern people is guided by two goals/focuses: either things seen and experienced as entertainment, including things ranging from movies, books, music, sports, games, and even sometimes religion and academics; and triviality, including things such as work/employment, money, relationships, social life, food, drink, sex, and it can also include religion and academia. What do you think?

1. Do you thinkthat modern man has anything else to live by? Take a trip to Himalayas to find differences, otherwise it is all going to be the same.
2. if you take a trip to the himalayas the monks will gladly fill you in on the only earthly enjoyments are sex, eating, and relieving yourself. its finding things to occupy your mind outside of earth bound things that makes the difference. simple mundane chores full of reptition are often used to liberate the mind rather than enslave it.
