Job Interview Tomorrow at Walmart?

I'm going to a job interview tomorrow at Walmart for a cashier position. I live in NY and I'm 16. I haven't been on a job interview in two years and even then, it was for a medical employment. I've never worked in retail. What should I expect? What should I bring? And what should I wear? Thanks in advance. -Sara

  1. Wear something casual, but nice. (no jeans) If you have a resume, bring it. When you go in, shake their hand firmly, look them in the eye. Sit up straight, and ask a question when asked if there's anything else you need to know. You'll be fine. Good Luck.
  2. I just had an interview myself and one question i have noticed that keeps popping up in multiple interviews is what are your strengths and weaknesses. Make sure you have a good answer for this one, as well in the interview don't be afraid to think about your answer for a second, also try not to stutter consistently. Hope this helps you and good luck(Y).
  3. Your lack of experience in retail isn't necessarily a bad thing. They aren't expecting an accountant for the position, so be cool. I've interviewed people for similar positions in my company and we take on complete newbies if we find they're competent. For your interview, I’d suggest making a simple one sheet resume. Wear a pant suit or even something semi-formal. Like a previous poster said, no jeans! Another thing – be absolutely honest in your interview. If you don’t know something, say so. You cant BS them about their own business. Remember they are interviewing you for a position that requires a good amount of trust. You are handling their money so don’t shoot yourself in the foot from the get-go. Lastly, smile! – a little bit of personality will go a long ways. Good luck with the interview.
