  1. It's free and if they tell you otherwise you should go somewhere else.
  2. A legitimate employment agency won't charge the job seeker anything. They make their money by charging placement fees with the employer. I went through this a couple years ago and didn't have to pay anything.
  3. its often the employer who pays the fees
  4. Nothing. They bill the "Client" But be careful these people are scam artisits and pay you $10 an hour and charge the client like $20. Also the CLIENTs in these types of situwations tend to dump you for all the wrong reasons. I took 1 (ONE) day off when i worked for a temp firm and got fired for it. My advice DONT WORK FOR A TEMP COMPANY. Its not worth it. keep looking you will find something.
  5. They never charge you always the employer. Example the employer may use Kelly services and pay them 10.00 per hour. Kelly services will pay you 8.00 dollars per hour. The good news is businesses are desperate to find good help so it is worthwhile to them to hire you instead of paying the staffing agency a 2.00 per hour fee. Also, if you go to work for the company they can afford to pay you a higher rate because they are no longer paying the staffing company. However, business also use staffing agencies for temporary assignments like when an employee is on maternity leave. It is no guarantee that you will get a permanent position but usually within a few months something will stick. You can also you staffing companies on your resume and many offer free classes like typing to help develop your business skills. In my opinion, staffing companies are great. Just do a little research online like Better Business Bureau to make sure they have a good track record of paying employees on time.
  6. A reputable agency will not require any money from you. If they ask for money don't use their services. The cost of employment agencies is born by the employers needing their services, not the potential employees.
