- You haven't said about your specialty - mechanical/ civil / instrumentation / electronics.... etc., Anyway, 5 years is rather a long break. To be frank, people will look at you like you are an alien or something if you say you haven't worked for 5 years unless you have some solid reasons. But if you are really talented and can pickup things faster and have some good connections you can be sailing soon enough. Good luck!!
- see you have to tell this to the HR/ the interview personal on board. Also you can start seraching for jobs from the job portals and in your resume you can mention your previous exp. and then you can write that left the job bcoz of kids family .. and want to resume my proffesional career. One thing is sure that no one will consider you are a exp enng.(if you have any).... so be ready to work on junior levels and treated like a fresher. best of luck
- Hi Smitha, I will start by saying the best love is Self Love. If you don't respect yourself the world will treat you worse. So first lift yourself in your eyes. Coming to your question, you have a job on your hand. If you want to work and make a niche no one can stop you and you can easily convince the interviewer. Though obviously you will have to start from scratch and i guess that shouldn't be a problem. As for the field I would suggest Networking is HOT. Buy books from Cisco, as they are the best in networking and have an 90%+ share world over. Make a good CV and post it on all Job Portals like Yello Jobs etc. BTW my friend got a job through Yello Jobs and is working with Cisco for the last 2 months. Lastly I would say be yourself and don't even try to be a superwomen. It takes a toll! Cheers, Himanshu
- All the above answers are really good and must be helpful for you. My suggestion is to go for some additional certification courses in your field like embedded system, networking, oracle (As in your case it will not be easy to get into IT sector). Being a woman it’s not a minus point to look after your family. Present that situation in a positive way, be confident, carry yourself well. It’s not that tough. ALL THE BEST……
