1. i am going through penn foster university (online college also). i am barely through my program and i have already got a job in my field choice. so i would say yes. i think employers like the fact that you are trying something, and a lot of employers will reimburse your tuition expenses and pay for you to further your knowledge. so i think it's worth your while
