How to Start a Medical Billing Service?

I would like to know if anyone knows how to go about starting a medical billing service? I have almost completed my course at US Career Institute and within the next year or two I would like to have my own billing service that way I know that I won't be getting ripped off by people. I have two young children whom I need to be home with. If anyone know how to go about starting a medical billing service please respond. I would greatly appreciate it. Preferably someone who already owns their own medical billing service. Thanks :)

1. You need to know people. If you are doing an at home business yourself only, it might work. You need to research and find a software company that you have to do little follow up work with. Find a client to do billing for. Remember costs of everything is important. Sending out statements are costly, postage, rental of support for software company, phone, internet, etc. Good luck
2. This is ironic because just two days ago, I was doing research on this same thing! I would love to work from home, and since my sister who lives in Ohio makes "A LIVING" doing this, I felt that maybe I could do something like medical transcribing, or billing. After what I found out doing something like this entails, I changed my mind quickly. First of all, one must learn the medical terms, and the "lingo".... which "E.R." " X-Ray" "post-op" "RX" and "B.M." are about all I know!! I just learned to type this past year, and I'm 56!!! Sooo... it looks like I'll have to stick with eBay! :-)
