how do i get on section 8 housing?

i got into a big fight with my daddy and the police were called. they said i have untill im 18 to live in my house and then i have to leave. im 18 next month and have no other family around. im in a year around school and looking for a job. am i able to get on section 8.

1. Probably not. I have a friend who was on the waiting list for 2-3 years before they finally contacted her. (And she had 2 children.) Contact your local social services office ASAP. You might be able to find some type of housing assistance that way. I wish you luck.
2. Nobody should be able to live for free. Get a job, and rent a cheap apartment with a roommate. The end.
