Can 18 year olds apply for Section 8 housing of HUD?

I'm only 17 but I've been kicked out of my house. I'm trying to find someone to stay with until i turn 18 but I just dont know if i can apply for Section 8 or HUD because I'll be 18 and still in school working a full time job and all that good stuff. So if anyone can answer my question I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

1. You won't qualify unless you also have a child of your own that you are also housing. Social Services will put you in a foster home, or group home until you are 18, but after that you need to support yourself. Do not look at others to do it for you.
2. if you can rent you can apply. i don't know what state you live in but there is usually a waiting list you should call your local dss and see if you can get on the waiting list now even though you are not 18 yet also you can ask about other forms of subsidized housing which offers rent based on your income....
