Government Grant/scams?

I got a letter in the mail and it was telling me that i can get a Grant and do not have to pay it back. it said that i can get up to $ 5,000 and 50,000 dollars. then it had a list of things like this $50,000 to go back to school $10,000 in free health care 31,000 towards a new house 10,000 to fix up your house 50,000 to travel the world 5000 to start a home base business 4800 to pay personal family expense 1,300 for mortgage payments 328 every month to help pay rent 9500 to pay your bills Has anybody got a card like this in the mail i am thinking about calling them back but i am afraid it might be a scam so has anybody ever got-ting one of these cards in the mail and tried it and had to pay nothing back please let me know When i called them they said i will not have to paid nothing Does that still make it a scam

  1. This is a scam, the goverment does not pay rent or mortgage payment or personel bills. They will ask to a fee up front and there is no grant.
  2. skamm
  3. They probably mailed out something like 100,000 letters or more in hopes a few people would fall for this scam. It sounds like you're very close to being one of the few that fall for it. DON'T. Any offer like this where they contacted you blind, out of the blue, has to be a scam. They'll make money off you. That's why they're making an offer like this. The most likely thing is that you have to pay a fee up front for this "grant". And, like the other answer says, you don't get the money. The "grant" is denied. Then you're offered a loan at very high interest rates so you can have the money. It's a lot cheaper just to borrow from your bank. There's no such thing as free money unless you have a rich uncle about to kick off. Added Stop and think. These people are making money. It has to come from somewhere. You're the only one around for them to get money from. Check the links below. These are phone call scams. They've apparently changed to using mail for you which is surprising to me. They normally wouldn't because they could face mail fraud charges by mailing this stuff. Don't get suckered.
