can anyone apply for low income housing?

im on a waiting list to be placed on the S.C.C housing list but i was wondering if in the mean time we can apply for low income housing..and how to go about doing so?

1. Well I can't say exactly how to go about this. It all differs in every city you go to. Look around your city for low income housing pojects. In my city there are signs near the building projects that have numbers you can call. Try your social security office as well. They should have listings for low income housing and apartments. Good luck!
2. In our area, you have to go through a Public Housing Authority. Try the HUD website for a list. www.HUD.gov The HUD website will have a LOT of info to help you - someime too much. Try to find info on a person or PHA in your area and make an appointment to go see them. Generally they release applications (here in the newspaper) with no warning and you have about an hour to get it in. Good luck!
