do i have to claim my student loans to my land lord to live in low income housing.?

i live in low income and my land lord is trying to find all kind of ways to mess with me. telling me that i have to claim the money i get for student loans as income so i will have to pay more rent is that true. i don't see why i would have to claim something i have to pay back and there for be paying double. makes no since to me.
