In an emergency situation can one pay off an old debt with Housing Authority and get help immediately?

I have an old debt with Jackon Housing Authority and I want to pay pff this debt and currently do not have anywhere to stay can they help me in an emergency situation.

1. I don't know where you live or what the debt is for but give them a call and ask. Chances are if you pay your debt, they will probably make you pay a deposit before giving you another apartment but Housing Authorities are state run so they might HAVE to help. Call and ask. Make sure you explain your situation, etc.
