Contact housing authority in your city and they can send you all the paperwork for you. I have done this and this time they can tell you what you need to do to be sure you pass their inspections and such.
you dont need to be on a sec 8 waiting list. You just contact the housing authority they will have a class that will teach you about being an approved landlord. Your property has to meet minimum standards and pass an inspection.
