As a British Person I would Like the following things done by my government..........to put first the elderly people of britain and provide them with the support and help they need to sack all senior over paid adminstrators in hospitals and to get rid of outsourced cleaners and bring them back in house. Stop giving benefits and housing to anyone who turns up with a sob story. And send the army in to turf out the illegals, stop pussy footing around people and look after the british first Tim you do not know what you are talking about.......the british army would be to find them and escort them to the airport not shoot them....the police have so much paperwork they do not have the time to do the job.......We as a country will collapse under the influx of immigrants that want to come here for all they can get. Economic migrants are working here sending their money home and screwing our economy by not spending it here.

Send the army in to turf out the illegals, hmmm, sounds like you'd be better off living in Burma. My point is that if we start resorting to such measures, i.e. using the military to handle domestic situations, then it's a small step to absolute dictatorship. In the present climate we cannot trust our government not to start abusing that power. Personally I don't think it is we who have the wrong immigration attitude, I think it's the rest of the world. If, for instance, the rest of mainland europe adopted the same kind of policy then the impact of immigration would be far less as it would be spread out. You can't blame people for trying to find a better life for themselves but at the same time you can't expect one country to do all the work. I just think that the general reaction to the situation is pointed in the wrong direction.

WELL SAID. I would like ALL immigrants to be tested to British standards of English. All who want to live here must be able to speak and write fluently in English. And they must have £2000 in the bank before entering the country - just like they do for Visa's in Oz. I have to say that most Polish who are living in my town seem to be working in our supermarkets and hairdressers etc, which to be fair they are paying taxes. But its those who claim all our benefits that I object to.

you can not tarnish all imagrants with the same brush, mostof the one's i've met have a much better work ethic and provide a better service than the local chavs, plus there btter for our economy, helping to keep down costs. let them have the benefits of beeing in the uk and the lower end jobs and aim for the higher up jobs for which owning to your background you are probably better trained for. i agree we need to take better care of our elderly and cut down on idle people claiming the doll though

There is A LIMIT to what the ARMY can do at any one time. The Armed Forces are under-resourced, under-paid and definately UNDER-MANNED for what they are required to do today without having to diversify into other official departments work space !!!!
