When it comes to apartment rentals, what is the difference between a studio, a single, and a bachelors?

I'm searching for an apartment for rent in West LA or SouthBay.

  1. well lets see, a studio is like one big room except for the bathrroom, a single means it has 1 bedroom other then the living room etc.... and a bachelors i believe has 2 or more bedrooms
  2. Studio is a miniature bachelor often with no oven if you are looking in an older city. Bachelors depending on the type of building can be like a studio (if there are no other bachelor units in the building) or it is the more luxury unit (oven and full size fridge) if both types of units exist in the building. The only time I have heard single being used is for a very small unit but to err on the side of caution, I would call them.
  3. There may not be any difference between them at all. They are all naming conventions that often mean different things from different landlords/brokers.
