Can I use a residential apartment on rent as an office?

I am setting up a software development business in Mumbai and I was looking if I can rent a residential apartment and use it for my office purpose anywhere in Lower Parel area. Please let me know.

2. No, not at all. It is illegal. You may put your self, as well as your landlord into problem. However, as Advocate or as CA, you can use part of your residence as your office.
