rules for apartment locator compensation?

i leased an apt for a couple last july while working for a locator company and have never recieved compensation. i faxed them the invoice right after the lease/look and the couple signed the contract the day we showed the apt. now i'm fighting with the complex who has given me the run around for almost a year. what can i do?
