International Affairs Major- Looking for internship!?

I go to school in NYC, I am a freshman who is majoring in international affairs/relations. I am desperately trying to find something to put my foot in the door in this field- an internship, even a lame job at an office that relates to my major in the slightest bit. Criags list doesn't seem to be cutting it, MonsterTrak either. Any advice, tips, leads? Thank you!!!

1. Look at different federal government agencies. FBI, CIA, Justice Department, State Department, etc. Most of them have student internships. I went on a state department internship to Japan and it was great. I worked at a consulate. If you'd rather not go overseas, they have domestic internships in Washington DC as well. However, the deadline for that was November 1st, but you may want to look at it and try to apply next year. If you would like to know more, feel free to send me a message.
