What happends if a company keeps calling you and you ask to be put on the do not call list and they still call

What happends if a company keeps calling you and you ask to be put on the do not call list and they still call? Is this against the law?

3. If it's someone you owe money to then you can't do anything about it. If it's someone else then you tell them that you are on that list and if they phone again then you will tell the police. The government should tell people more about this because it does stop callers.

6. no its not against the law. just close the phone in their face. you will do it like 10000 times and they will stop calling you. take this from an expert.
7. well one time these peoploe kepted calling me and I ask them to stop and remove ime and they don't, so i ask to talk to there managaer and she says to me that tey won't call no more, but they keeped calling, so i just don't anser to the phone. then i had to get a cell phone to keep from the phone calls cause they were calling me at my house
8. It is against the law. The fines are substantial. File a complaint against them.
9. If you are on the federal Do Not Call list you should make certain you get the name and phone number of the caller and keep a record of when he calls. File a complaint with the Federal Communicaitons Commission ( in the phone book or on line) You can collect damages against the caller. If, however, you have done business with that company within the past 6 months they can call until 6 months is up. Same for Political campaigns, pollsters, charities and a few others.They are exempt from the law.
10. Just asking the company that keeps calling to put you on the Do Not Call List won't do any good. You have to put yourself on the list. Here is a link to the site so you can register your phone number. https://www.donotcall.gov/ Be advised that it takes some time to go into affect. But after that time they can't legally call you or you can turn them in for a violation.
11. You need to register on the Do Not Call List. Go to the listed link and register. Once registered you can record the call. Inform them you are recording and that they are in violation of the DO No Call List and it they call again you will report them. They can be fined. You can only do this it you do not have a current business relationship with this company.
