How do I report somebody for violating the "Do Not Call" list?
I am on a "Do Not Call" list, which is supposed to prohibit telemarketers from contacting me. I've been getting harassed by telemarketers claiming they represent Sprint/PCS, and saying I've won a free cell phone. I've already requested twice that they stop calling me, yet the calls keep coming one after the other. How do I report these jerks? (They sound like they're from India, perhaps - all the callers have that particular accentuation.)
Public Comments
- call your phone company...they can help you
- Caller ID then report them. We all have a right to privacy.
- It's probably a scam. Theres nothing you can really do about it they usually call with an unknown number. Also since their in India the police have no jurisdiction over them.
- next time ask to talk to someone in charge while on the phone with them. If that doesnt work go to the Sprint/PCS website and report it there.
- please contact your attorney general in your state. It does not matter that these people are in India. If you or the state brings suit against these people(civil suit) you are suing the company not the individuals. If you are on a no call list and have been for I believe 90 days, each time they call you is a five hundred dollar penalty. You have to document this, keep a pad and pen by your phone document time, company calling, and person talked to. If not the attorney general in your state, hire your own attorney. If the attorney general takes the case the state keeps all the proceeds for the functioning of the no call list. If you bring suit and win depending on the amount of calls made, you you get all the proceeds. Un fortunately this is the only way to get there attention thru their wallets.
