List Only

Hello, I have been Scamed ?? :)?

I have recently applied to work as a driver, on an ad I found on Craig's list over the internet. They asked for an email address and an email to verify information, Name, DOB so on and so forth. Then After confirming the application they asked for a $930.00 deposit for a cb radio. And after depositing such funds I would be receiving info thru the cb for pick ups and drop offs. Later after depositing the funds thru a money gram the number which I was using to communicate thru was made unavailable as well as all other contact info... Now I now the answer is to go strait to the police, especially since I found the same people on crags list doing the same scam with new numbers. Here is the dilemma the driving position was for an escort service to transport such escorts from customer to customer. If I have never been involved in such acts prior and just Applied out of curiosity and over whelming compensation. If I do report it would I be held responsible with any association to such crime?

  1. You say association with such crime... did you ever make such an association? You, from the sound of it, never made a single "delivery" so there is no association.
  2. From what you described, you never actually delivered escorts from place to place. You were scammed for your money before it got that far. You could always claim that you believed that were going to be doing chauffeur work and did not know that the escorts were engaged in illegal activity. You never even had a chance to see much less participate in illegal activity. Even if you had, this is small potatoes compared to the scamming itself. The prosecuting attorney will more than likely ignore this stuff when there is a chance to go after the bigger crime of the scam. Breaking a scam ring looks very good in the papers. Sending someone to jail for driving escorts engaged in illegal practices would not. The prosecuting attorney will always go after the bigger fish. I say report the crime. At the very least something can be done to keep it from happening to other people. I doubt you will get your money back though.
