Do you ever wonder about the statistics concerning the people surrounding you at the moment?

Don't you wonder how many of those people could be pregnant, convicts, adopted, in therapy, in a home/apartment, have traveled outside the US.... I just wonder sometimes. funny, taffie, that you mention emptying bowels and sex, 'cause it's not just normal stuff I think of. It's everything. I'm just nosey with no need to fit in to a statistic, btw.

  1. http://www.census.gov/ Type whatever interests you in the search box -- i.e. felons -- then click the radio button for census.gov and hit enter. For statistics down to zip code, click "american factfinder" on menu at left. You are looking at what is probably the world's largest database.
  2. You ever wonder what statistic you fall under? I wonder that too but it's fairly easy to figure out what who can fall under. There are a couple mystery's but I am sure he falls under something.
  3. "Statistics can be used to prove nearly everything." - said by my stats lecturer. I've heard this one used many times: "1 in 4 of us will need therapy. Think of your 4 closest people. If it's not them, then it's you"
  4. never I`ve to many problems of my own without checking on others.
  5. I think governments like to rule the world with statistics.... we have to be told how many times the average person empties their bowels and has sex a week and well if you don't fit in they like to make you feel like a freak....
  6. I do think about that sometimes, like I wonder if this girl has been raped because the statistic is 1 in 4 will experience some type of rape or attempted rape in their lifetime, which is scary. But as I do that I also wonder about why they put so many statistics out there. There is always some new study and it is usually just common sense.
