moving to austin, with a HUGE dog, PLEASE HELP!!?
I'm moving to austin in about a month, and i have a 150 lb english mastiff!! she's not on any apartment's agressive breed lists, its just finding a place that doesn't have a weight limit thats a problem. All the places I've found the apartment ratings site says are in "the ghetto".. coming from San antonio, I can't imagine the "ghetto" in austin can even compare, but I dont want to take my chances. If anyone knows where I can find a decent two bedroom where I can have my amazing dog, please help me. Thanks in advance! (I need a place on or near the UT shuttle, so way north austin is out!)

- when they say "ghetto" in austin, they are probably talking about east austin, around the riverside drive area. man, that area is pretty rough. a lot of student housing is over there and it is definitely not a part of austin i would be in at night. there are always stories of people getting killed in the parking lots and outside the complexes, so living alone is probably not a good idea. and i hate to be negative, but i think you will have a very hard time getting an apartment that will take your dog, too. maybe look into renting a small house with a bit of yard. there are a bunch of bus routes that go all over austin. the UT shuttles are great since they go straight to campus. but as a UT student you ride any bus for free, so you don't necessarily have to be on an orange route. best of luck finding a place, if you are still having difficulty, i would also suggest finding an apartment hunter that can help you find what meets your needs and is in your budget.
