when one applies on Yahoo Hot Jobs are they likely to get feedback?

When you apply to jobs on Yahoo do the employers actually look that you applied and call most of the time or is it just better to go physically to get a better chance of being hired? How long do I have to wait until I know I was unsuccessful at applying.
