What is the best way to search for an apartment in Vancouver; without being in the city?

I want to move to Vancouver from Alberta, but would appreciate some advice on where to search for an apartment? Where do most people submit ads in Vancouver for this?

1. I found my current apartment in Vancouver on Craigslist. There's some great ads and many of them have pictures as well which will be helpful if you're not from here. I've never personally used it, but I know people who have used RentBC.com, so you should check it out. Hope that helps and good luck!
