What is the best way to search for an apartment in Northern NJ?

My fiancee and I are currently looking for an apartment in Northern NJ and it seems we have run out of options! We want to move into an apartment in either Lyndhurst, Rutherford, Nutley, or North Arlington. So far we have tried going through a real estate agency and using craigslist... please help! Note: My fiancee and are looking to move into a two family home - not an apartment complex. Thanks for the help!

1. I found lots of great apartments on http://www.rent.com/ when we were looking, and moved into one on the website. They have great pics(usually) and sometimes an 360 degree tour. If you move into an apartment that you found on their website, they give you a $100 visa gift card. Good luck!

Compared to all the other websites, this one really gives the consumer what they are looking for. I know this really helped me when I was moving so good luck!
