Where do I go to begin my search for an apartment?

Also, do I need to have credit to get an apartment?

1. Try roommates.com., that's where I got my apartment in NYC. They have profiles and most of the time pics of the people so you know you aren't getting a weirdo. It costs about $15 for a month.
2. Try www.craigslist.com. Credit will likely come into play, but it will depend on the landlord. If you are a young student it's common to have little to no credit. Being prepared with letters of reference from a roommate, employer, older family friend, etc. may be helpful in lieu of a credit history.
