Craigslist alternative???? Free apartment search websites?

I am currently on a scavenger hunt to find an apartment in New York (Brooklyn, Queens area). I usually go to craigslist.org for my apartment searches but I would like to know if theres any other website thats like craigslist where I can search. 1. I do not want to go to yahoo real estate, msn real estate as those places send you to other websites that you have to pay to search for a place to live 2. I cannot afford to pay a real estate broker to do the work 3. I refuse to pay to search for an apartment this is why I usually check craigslist. Basically, I'm looking for alternate websites that can help me search for available apartments for free. ALSO, I am registered with the nyc.gov website to receive emails when apartments applications are available. Please help. SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY PLEASE

1. http://www.rent.com You can get $100 back if you find an apartment through them and sign a lease, I did. http://www.apartmentsearch.com has a similar thing They are both free to use.
2. i found mine in ny through craigslist so keep looking for the updated one's. Also try rent.com and nypost.com
3. Any newspaper website will have a section with rentals in it try there. Should only be about 30 different newspapers in New york to choose from.
4. rent.com apartments.com Then, you can always check out local classified ads in your area... Online newspapers most likely always have these, as well as online news stations....
