What kind of financial aid can I get?

My husband lost his job our main sorce of income, we have four children and Im half way through my medical transcription course through the US Career Institute. Im way behind on my payments and have a high grade point average. What king of loan or grant can I get if any.I went to Sallie Mae and did not get to finish application, can someone out ther help?
