Does anyone know of low income housing that accepts single mom families with bad credit?

My cousin is going through a divorce and needs housing for her and her 3 kids. She had already recieved a letter stating she was turned down because of her bad credit from 1 apt. complex. She is living with her brother and his wife and their 3 kids . Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. She lives in Michigan.

1. Search Craigs list with no realtor because if there is no realtor trying to rent it, the owner cant pull credit... sorry about your friend.. thats rough
