summer internship. HELP PLEASE!?

I am currently a freshman in college and am looking for a summer internship for 2009. I am not having any luck. All the companies I found on monster trak, career builder, craigslist, simply hired, etc., want college students who are in their junior and senior year. I am particularly looking for a business internship. I know its broad but right now anything is fine because I am still exploring the different aspects of business. I already looked in the career center at my college, no luck there either. So could you guys help me on how to find an internship? I would need one around Orange County area in California. 1. You might find an internship by going to a career fair in your field at your current college. Unfortunately, most companies looking for interns generally look for Sophomores and upperclassmen because these students have base knowledge of their field and have started the basic classes for their specific major. Also, these students have proven that they have more than just a fleeting interest in their field. Best of luck with your search, hopefully your business career gets off to a good start; just don't get too worried about starting with internships this early, you have plenty of time.
