- PTFS: Part time flexible schedule. This means you work less than 40 hours per week, at any time of day or evening and in any location Transitional: An employee who is temporarily hired for a specific job or location Temporary Relief Carrier: substitute for mail carriers who are on vacation or leave.
- PTFs actually work anywhere from 32 - 40+ hours a week. Every PTF I've ever known, and when I was one myself, worked 40+ hours a week. PTRs (Part Time Regular) on the other hand, NEVER get 40 hours a week. Like the previous post states: you don't have a set schedule as a PTF. TEs (Transitional Employee) and Temporary Relief are for the Carrier craft only. And, the previous posting is correct in defining those.
