Is US career institute reliable and worth the money? How do you get lab experience this way?

I know someone who would like to be a medical assistant and is thinking of taking online course thru this place. How do we know she will have a very good chance of passing the medical asst exam afterwards and be able to get a job? She would find it hard to go to the community college because of baby sitting problems. Also how would she get hands on experienced to qualify for a job if she is doing distance learning.

  1. There are many on- line colleges, and I am not well tutored on the school that you mention. Medical Assistant would be one that she should be able to do the book learning on-line, and should start looking for an internship that she develops on her own. As trainers, we are allowed to have 120 hours of free "work" to give in a training opportunity. They can start calling hospitals etc, and request internships, or "Work Trials" so they can get on the job training while getting the "book smarts' to be able to stay there. My other suggestion would be to have them look into Temp agencies that are Medically based. This will give them a broad spectrum to choose from, get experience from large corporations, as well as small medical offices, and more experience to bring to a future resume.
  2. Go to an accredited school. The safest way would be a community college or other public college that has online classes. It is probably the cheapest and best way to go.
