What are some good methods for getting Computer Engineering jobs?

I will graduate with a bachelor's degree in computer engineering next spring and im starting my job search process. I was just wondering how some of you that are currently in the workforce found your jobs when you were about to graduate. Im checking all the job search sites(monster, careerbuilder etc) but was wondering if there are some other good methods to get your name out there.

  1. What computer languages are you fluent in? Specifically, do you know Cocoa? http://www.dsmedialabs.com/ -- You will need to view it in Internet Explorer, I also think safari works. This company is spearheaded by my fiance and three partners, now supporting a staff of about 7 at this time I believe. The office is in West Palm Beach, but telecommuting is possible. Certainly they'd like you to be in Palm Beach if you can be. At this time, the company is doing a lot of work with Iphones - creating applications for a number of Fortune 500 companies. They're small now, but DS Media Labs is on the rise... if you're willing to work long hours for the next few years, you could get in on the ground floor of something really amazing. It is an opportunity to get involved with big name projects like Universal Music Group, DefJam Records, NFL Super Bowl, Fox News, Apple, and others. If you decide in a few years that this isn't for you, then you've already created a solid resume. However, the boys seem to love what they're doing, despite the hours, and even through this recession, they're holding steady. If you're interested, there's a link on the website that will tell you how to submit your resume.
  2. Tell them about all the great stuff you have done with computers outside of what school taught you. Because you do love computers so much that you do tons of great things with them just for fun. YOu do do stuff for fun? Advanced stuff beyond the level you get at school? Because that is the sort of dedication that gets a grad top dollar in the job market. If you do only what the school told you to do, you will have a much harder time getting a job.
