3. If that is as it looks (10 to 12 gallons), I wouldn't pay more than $100 USD. I've had reef tanks and size matters, you want the largest you can afford. The key to a healthy aquarium is keeping it understocked and stable; the larger the body of water, the more gradual changes will occur (temp, ph, etc.). That is small for a marine aquarium, I would want 55 gal plus. Those creatures have a lot more than 10 gallons of space in the ocean. They can adjust but you are still left with a small body of water that can fluctuate quickly... and they don't take well to change.
4. Wow you people are nuts, Its only a 10 gallon tank. I wouldn't pay more than about 150 U.S. Dollars for EVERYTHING including the fish. Even if it might be worth more or he payed like 250 for everything you still have the upper hand. Hes the one that needs to sell it. $150
