some of the chicago apartments on craigslist cost 2700 PER MONTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! what kind of pay is down there?

2. It depends what type of place you are looking at there are many affordable places in Chicago. It also depends on what you do for a job. If you are looking for a place on Michigan Ave then you will pay a lot if you look for a place in Buckktown the rent will be lower
3. professional people here make 120k plus
4. Generally, when rent is that high people either have a very good job or have a roommate.
